NEWS! Lizzie Kimball Photography

If you read my last post, then you are aware that I am in the process of making some changes with my business. Well, these changes are going to be bigger, and better than expected.

If you didn't notice on my website, the name of my photography business has officially changed from Elizabeth Kimball Photography to Lizzie Kimball Photography. There is still a lot that needs to be done, but I will have a new website and blog site address in the next coming days. But, don't worry, all of the info will be posted here, and even if you go to elizabethkimball.net, you will be automatically re-directed to lizziekimball.com (this site is not live for now!).

Why did I decide to change my business name? Simply because Lizzie is who I am. Young, fun, and hip. And, it has a nice roll :) also, on a big thanks to Kim Jarman and Jenny Bishop (link soon to come!) for encouraging me to make the name switch! I love it and love my new logo and colors.

Take a peek at my new logo with some fun pictures!

Changes for '09!

Hello, 2009! I may be a bit behind in my posting, but it's for good reason!

-I'm in the process of creating a whole new blog. Chances are, I'll have a new blog address so stay tuned to this blog to find the new address! It will be wayyy awesome.

-I'm in the process of finalizing my wedding packages. For those of you who have asked for a quote / price list, I am in the process of finishing those packages and have added lots of extras and goodies to those packages! I'm super excited to release these babies and they should be final by the weekend.

-I'm in the process of updating my website. You may have noticed some new portrait pictures in my family and baby/kids galleries, but I'm in the process of adding so much more, and also adding wedding images to my website.

-Have you noticed I added two portrait packages? Yes! One for seniors, and one for the first-year of your child's life. You can check them out on my website, and when the new blog is posted, there will be a PDF of those packages on my blog. If you don't see a package you like, we can also customize one to meet your needs.

-Do I smell new colors being added to my business? Stay tuned for a fresh look.

-Switching to Canon? Definite possibility. Why? If I switch, I'll let you know :)

I'm so excited it's a new year! I can't wait to see what this year has to offer, and I have so many goals that I would like to complete within the year. Personal, mental, physical, and business-related. I am so excited and thankful for everything God has given me and can't wait to follow the path He has laid out. Thank you to everyone who supports me! You are all my world and I love you so much :)

Yay for 2009!

I just wanted to leave you with one little picture of my nephew! I took this with a Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 lens that I rented for the wedding, and I loved it! His eyes just look glassy and mmmm. This was in the tub, and I love pictures in the tub! They are always so fun and cute. Moms out there, if you are wondering if I'll photograph your kid in the tub, you bet! Just schedule me during their bath time :)

I can't wait to add this lens to my bag!

Jarod & Erica: Married!

Photobucket

Settle-in folks! This is going to be a long one.

Last weekend I was so blessed and excited to photograph Jarod and Erica's wedding. This was my first time photographing a wedding, and it was such and honor to be apart of their lives and document one of the most important memories they will ever have. I had so much fun getting to know this couple and to be apart of their wedding.

Erica was so gorgeous and calm before the wedding

Jarod and Erica chose to see each other before the wedding, and I most excited for this moment! They were able to see each other alone before the craziness of the rest of the day.

Just look at the look on his face when he sees his beautiful bride for the first time!

Jenny Bishop was second-shooting with me and took lots of shots with the guys while I was with the girls. The bridesmaids were very fun!

I just LOVE this shot of the bridal party. Classic.

Now, I just had to post this next one up because...well, because every time I look at it I laugh and get all warm inside because the look on these cute kid's faces are just so dang cute and classic. I like to call this one, "Cheese & Crackers"

The ceremony was indoors inside of Jarod and Erica's church.

Afterwards, we went outside and braved the very cold weather to grab some more shots of Jarod and Erica. It was so cold that poor Erica had goosebumps all over her arms, and Jenny & I's fingers were so cold that we could hardly move our hands to use our cameras! But, it was definitely worth it!

Thank you so, so much Jarod & Erica for having me photograph your wedding. You two are a great couple and you both have an amazing future in store. I had so much fun photographing you, and I will always remember you two.

Also, a big thank you to Jenny Bishop for second-shooting with me! You are awesome and I loved hanging out with you and really appreciate all that you have done! Jenny will also have images posted on her blog shortly.

Overall, this was such an amazing day and I am so thankful that I was apart of it. I loved it so much, and can't wait to do more weddings in the future!

iPhone Love

I've realized I haven't really blogged about anything 'personal' lately, so I thought I'd share some pictures taken with my lovely iPhone to take you on a little journey of what goes on behind the scenes. What do I take pictures of with my phone? Oh, everything that looks interesting, creates some kind of emotion in me, or freezes a memory that I will smile at when I look back onto it.

Let's start all the way back in early November on the presidential election day. This was my first year being able to vote in a presidential election, and was so excited! This is me and my boyfriend Brad. Note our super cool 'I Voted' stickers! Rock on, America.

Photobucket

Oh, lovely school. I am so happy to be off for a month! Here's the view just sitting outside as the sun sets. Oh, lovely.

Photobucket

And, here was my last day of the semester, filled with studying for my British Literature class! Not too fun, but I'm glad I'm done! Next semester should be quite interesting: I have 5 English classes: 2 of which are 300 level, and the other 3 are 400 level. I might as well live in the library.

Photobucket

Now, onto the happy stuff! I love Christmas season. Last week my family was over for a celebration for my mom's birthday, and my Grandma brought along this really fun word game. I love word games, they are my favorite!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Oh, Arizona. Last week I was at my Aunt's baking cookies, and we took a quick break outside to pick some lemons off of her tree. I looked up and saw the amazing sky and tree and had to snap this! It's one of my favorites. I love the smell of fresh lemons, even in the middle of the winter :)

Photobucket

And, here is the classic random Arizona. It appears to be sunny, and then you drive to the end of your street, look left, and see this:

Photobucket

But, it's the most wonderful time of the year!

Photobucket

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone has a great holiday and remembers the reason for the season :)
